The SC Center for Rural and Primary Healthcare is pleased to announce a request for proposals for a targeted research RFA funding opportunity. CRPH supports rural healthcare in South Carolina and aims to increase access to obstetric and gynecological providers. To better serve the needs of rural South Carolinians of reproductive age, the CRPH creates programs and deliverables to increase access to healthcare, including obstetric and gynecological providers. Through this work, a model has been developed that examines the factors related to a patient’s choice of obstetrical (OB) provider to be utilized to inform workforce placement and recruitment.

To better inform our model and fill gaps in knowledge, the CRPH requests proposals to elucidate the factors that impact a pregnant patient’s choice of OB provider.

This one-time funding announcement will fund at least one research award in amounts up to $100,000 to be expended by June 31, 2024. Indirect costs are not allowable under this funding award. The application can be found here and must be submitted by August 1, 2023. Submissions will not be accepted after this deadline. Please direct all questions to SCRuralHealthcare@uscmed.sc.edu.
