Mobile Health Unit Enhancement Program

The Mobile Healthcare Unit Enhancement Program was launched to provide resources and support for mobile healthcare units that serve rural and underserved residents in South Carolina. These resources and support must be utilized to expand service offerings, increase the service area served, increase the frequency of care, or otherwise increase service delivery by these units.  Methods to identify plans for sustainability (including but not limited to reimbursement for services) of such services must be included.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Increase the services offered by the unit

  • Increase the frequency by which such services are offered

  • Identifying new locations for services to be offered

  • Partnering with health care organizations and/or systems to enhance their service offerings

This Enhancement program is interested in units/organizations that have an established unit and currently provide services to rural and underserved populations.  This RFA is not intended to fund requests for new units or programs without an existing unit.

This call is particularly interested in services that can be expanded, integrated into local delivery systems, and sustainable for the long term.  We encourage the submission of a diverse group of proposals and organizations to enhance health in rural communities. Outcomes and measures should be easily measurable and follow the S.M.A.R.T format.

The Call for Applications is now closed. All submissions will be reviewed and notified of their funding status. Additional information on the program timeline can be found below.
